Design Objective
Moving cross-country means more than a change of address. It means figuring out how your life, your furniture, your habits, your aesthetic, fits somewhere entirely new.
For this Palisades family, the home was a Cape Cod: classic, structured, familiar. But California has a way of softening things. The ask was to honor both — the East Coast traditionalism they'd grown up with, and the relaxed, sun-lit ease of their new neighborhood.
Before a single piece of furniture came in, the space needed work. We sourced and installed lighting throughout the living room, dining room, kitchen, and staircase. A new kitchen island counter went in. Built-in cabinetry was designed for the home office. Wallpaper was selected and hung in two bedrooms. The bones had to be right before anything else could be.
Then came the layering. Furniture and decor that felt considered, casual enough for a California Saturday, pulled-together enough for a family that knows the difference. Every room designed and sourced through Staged by CK, with the family's own sectional worked into the family room seamlessly.
The result is a home that feels like them, just with better light, better bones, and a little more breathing room.
